When You've Lost Touch With Who You Are
I offer self-esteem counselling on the Gold Coast for people who have quietly lost their footing with themselves. You might be second-guessing your decisions, struggling to say no without feeling guilty, worrying about disappointing people, or carrying a steady sense of not being enough. Some people describe not knowing what they want anymore, making most of their choices around other people's expectations, or feeling disconnected from the person they want to be.
Questions like "who am I now?", "what do I actually want?" and "why don't I trust myself anymore?" come up often here, and they are worth taking seriously.

What We Might Look at Together
Self-worth shows up in ordinary, everyday moments more than in big ones. These are the places it usually becomes visible.
How you talk to yourself
The standards you hold yourself to, and what you say inside your own head after a mistake or a decision you are unsure about.
Trusting your own decisions
Hesitating, second-guessing, asking everyone else first, or going back over a choice long after you have made it.
Values & who you are
What actually matters to you, and how far your current life sits from it. This matters most when roles or relationships have recently changed.
Other people's expectations
Comparison, the opinions you weigh most heavily, and where family, work or friendships shape choices that should be yours.

What Sessions With Me Can Look Like
We can start with recent situations where the self-doubt or the uncertainty showed up — nothing dramatic, just the moments you noticed it. What was happening, what you said to yourself, and how you felt afterwards.
From there we can explore what matters to you, where other people's expectations are steering your choices, and what you would like to feel clearer about. There is no pressure to define your identity quickly, and no requirement to go back over childhood unless it is relevant and you want to.
Confidence also tends to move around — steadier at work and shakier at home, or the other way round. Noticing where it dips can tell us where the work would make the most difference to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Self-esteem generally refers to how you value yourself, while confidence often relates to how capable you feel in a particular situation. The two overlap without being quite the same thing.
Yes. Changes in relationships, work, family roles or other circumstances often raise questions about who you are now and what matters to you.
Not necessarily. Earlier experiences can be discussed if they feel relevant to you, but we can just as easily stay with current situations, decisions and patterns.
