When You've Been Carrying Too Much for Too Long
I offer stress counselling on the Gold Coast for people who are worn out. You might be exhausted even after a full night's sleep, unable to switch off, shorter with people than you want to be, finding it harder to concentrate or stay motivated, or feeling drained and a bit disconnected from things you used to care about. Often there is very little left over for yourself by the end of the day.
This is not about helping you become better at pushing through exhaustion. It is about looking honestly at what you are carrying, where the pressure is coming from and what might realistically change. You do not need to wait until you reach breaking point before you talk to someone.

Where the Pressure Might Be Coming From
Stress, burnout and a period of change often overlap rather than arriving one at a time. We can look at whichever part is taking the most out of you right now.
Carrying too much
Workload, deadlines and the standards you hold yourself to. We can separate what is genuinely being asked of you from the expectations you have added yourself.
Everyone needing something
Being available to work, family and everyone else, and how hard it can be to say no when there is already nothing left in the tank.
Change & what comes next
A career change, a relationship ending, retirement, parenting shifts or grief. When the old life no longer fits, questions about identity and values tend to follow.
Signs you are running on empty
Exhaustion that rest does not touch, irritability, trouble concentrating, motivation dropping away, or feeling emotionally flat and disconnected.

What Sessions With Me Can Look Like
You do not need a schedule or a plan before you come. We can start with what is taking the most energy at the moment, what has changed recently, what feels hardest and which commitments have the least give in them.
From there we can consider what is actually within your control, where expectations or a lack of boundaries may be adding to the load, and what practical changes might fit your life rather than someone else's. Where a big transition is at the centre of it, we can talk about what matters to you now and what you want this next part to look like — without any pressure to have that worked out quickly.
The point is not to hand you another list of things to do. If you are already stretched, the last thing you need is more to manage.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Prolonged pressure can come from caring responsibilities, relationships, study or several demands landing at once, not just a job.
No. You do not need to reach breaking point first. We can talk whenever the pressure has been building or things are becoming harder to manage.
Yes. A career change, a relationship ending, retirement, becoming sober, an empty nest or grief can all add pressure and raise questions about who you are now and what comes next.
